Strawberry Squids Forever

The Wired series Absurd Creatures recently profiled Histioteuthis heteropsis, commonly known as the strawberry squid. Though its name is derived from its resemblance to a strawberry, the squid’s other notable characteristic is that it has one huge eye and one little one. This unique asymmetry evolved to help the strawberry squid thrive in its environment.
