Since I am not going to have internet access for a few days...

...I am going to post Monday's installment of THE COLD INSIDE today...

Not posting that much right now... I am off from work this week...

... and I must admit I am spending a lot of time in the strange place known as Skyrim.

 

But just for the fun of it here is a picture of me in the High School Talent Show way back in 1986!

 

A writing break or a broken brain...

I am not sure why... maybe I exhausted myself with my Halloween stories and postings. Maybe getting the new serial novel read did me in. All I know is that I can't get anything remotely creative to happen in the old brain.

 

So here's what's gonna happen. There will be no FridayFlash posting or Monday installment of PRICE BREAKS AND HEARTACHES. Then on Wensday I will get the serial novel started and rev up the left side of my brain again.

That should give me enough time to replenish whatever it is I'm missing.

The insane, geeky and sexy news postings will continue if something strikes my fancy.

Speaking Of Super Heroes...

I am really glad that you folks out there are reading and enjoying my LOCAL HEROES stories.

These are ideas and characters I have carried around in my head since I was a boy and I had long ago lost any hope of anything every coming from them.

This is a picture of them back i did back in 1986 from when I thought I could draw (I couldn't)




They say things never change and I guess when it comes to dreams that is especially true.

An announcement regarding my update schedule and PRICE BREAKS AND HEARTACHES

It has been months since I last created a Price Breaks and Heartaches story, mostly because they are pretty epic in length and my other projects have been eating up my time.

So I have devised a plan. I am trimming down and splitting up my stories of retail and failed romance into much more manageable 1,000 word or so increments. I hope this will increase their readability and your enjoyment.

So the new schedule is as follows;

MONDAY: A new entry in Price Breaks and Heartaches.

WEDNSDAY: A new entry in my serial novel In The Shadow Of His Nemesis

FRIDAY: A new #Fridayflash entry.

My 5 Second Fictions and Lovable Links will continue to appear at random.

Happy Birthday to Blog!

I just realized that on 10/07/09 this blog became ONE YEAR OLD. I want to thank all my subscribers, followers and readers for making it much more fun and successful than I ever thought it could be.

Now lets celebrate!

Six Months!

If I may take a moment here to pat myself on the back I would just like to say that my serial novel In The Shadow Of His Nemesis has reached the six month mark.

I must say that I'm pretty darn pleased with it so far, I hope you folks out there have been enjoying it. I even went so far as to create a faux soundtrack for it. You can give it a listen here at My Blip.fm Station.

Book One? All Done! Was it fun?

Well it was fun for me anyway.

And Book Two is actually ready to go as well.

The 5 second fictions are chugging along as well. I have now written one for every year I have spent on this Earth.

(Lets not mention the other planets shall we?)

I am taking next week off and then Book Two starts and let me tell you folks, the trip only gets stranger from here.

I have now been at this serial novel thing for over six months..

...and I hope you're all still with me.

I had hoped to have another PRICE BREAKS AND HEART ACHES ready for Friday but I don't think I'm going to make it- especially not now with my job's new 'Do Your Damn Job Instead of Blogging All Day' policy.

Fascists.

Also my daughter just wrapped her her school year so I have been spending my days and nights enjoying her company before she heads off to summer camp.

Then once she's gone I hopefully I can enjoy some time with my missus- if you know what I mean...

(Of course that is assuming I can lock the dogs in the bathroom first, I just can't perform if a housepet is watching me.)

Well anyway, keep circulating the blog let me know what you think of the stories you find here and of course DAMNIT NORTH DAKOTA WHERE ARE YOU??? Somebody there has got to be hankering for talks of horror and nerdity.

We are coming in the home stretch... at least as far as Book One is concerned...

And in other news if it seems like my posts are coming a little less often let me apologize in advance... my Dreaded Day Job has suddenly become a lot busier so there is less time for secretly pursuing my creative endeavors.

And sadly that also means I had to decide between regular twittering and forum visiting and this... so if I have spoken to you via twitter or places like RPG.net and CINEMATIC TITANIC's forums I have not dropped off the face of the Earth.

Well not on purpose anyway.

Did you miss me?

This weekend the pool at our apartment complex opened so I spent most of the time watching making sure my daughter didn't manage to drown herself or any of her friends.

Then yesterday I missed work do to a doctor's appointment and would have felt strangely guilty if I posted anything as a result.

But here we are with the latest installment of my serial novel... as always I would love to hear what you think.

What The Hell...

So I as goofing around with my twitter account and tried to do super short one line stories within the 140 character range.

I called them 5 Second Fiction... I figured I would share them with you folks as well.

I have no idea what's going on...

But for some reason the old blog page is not loading completely.

Is anyone else seeing this?

The Clustrmaps issue I spoke about earlier fixed itself so I'll just wait and see.


Well I'm off to watch MARTYRS.

Actually Wednesday kind of snuck up on me this week...

Hopefully I caught all the typos this time.

Actually I got a lot done this week, I also got my regular web page revised.

The only thing still giving me issues is chapter 43 but we'll get there. Maybe today even.

Then again maybe not.

It's such a brutal planet It's such an ugly world

That story was kind of harsh huh?


I've had this story in mind for a while but since it was inspired by the actual terrible things that happened in Sierra Leone I decided to wait a while before I touched on the events. Plus I had to work up my courage, monsters are easy for my, human cruelty is hard for me write about.

Well I hope you liked what you read. For those of you looking for funny stuff I promise it will be here soon. I tend to go from horror to humor and back again.
