The Cold Inside

He got home to find his chores already done, which meant Mom was still feeling apologetic. She gave him the night off from everything, even bird duty. Pam was out with Ronnie so the TV was his.
This was a rare treat. Tristam grabbed a glass of soda and prepared for a night of vegging out in front of the tube. But his thoughts kept returning to the conversation he’d had with Greg;
“Everything happens for a reason Tristam, sometimes we can’t see why but if we submit ourselves to God’s will, everything will come out right in the end.”
He wondered what that was all about. Was Greg trying to save his soul?
If that’s the case good luck pal. Tristam thought as he watched the opening credits of Saturday Night Live, Even if there is a God he’s a friggin' asshole and I want nothing to do with him.
He flicked ahead a few channels, into HBO and Cinemax territory. The Terminator was just starting. He felt a little twitch of anticipation at the thought of the love scene two-thirds of the way through the movie. It was just the way he liked them, nice and gropey with the girl on top.
